Making A Change!

Pupils create a carbon footprint for their school

As part of the school project "making A change!", the Competence Consulting for Climate Neutrality supports students and teachers in calculating the greenhouse gas emissions of their school.

At the beginning of the school year, the following knowledge is developed together in workshops:

  • Basic knowledge of climate change
  • Basics of CO2accounting
  • Handling of the CO2-accounting-tool KLIMEcalc

Equipped with the necessary tools and knowledge, the workshop participants collect the necessary data over a period of several months.

The aim is to calculate the carbon footprint for the school by the end of the school year.
In addition, in a workshop, the first steps towards climate neutrality strategies and reduction measures are being set

In a final workshop, the students will then present some of the balance sheets and concepts developed for reduction measures and compare the balance sheets using key figures.

Since the tightrope walk to climate neutrality can be a long way, this project is also designed to last several years.
In this way, the trained climate protectors can pass on their knowledge to the next students.
In this way, a CO2balance can be drawn up regularly
